The stranger stood at the edge of the woods and watched the young Quileute man as he writhed in pain.
"Not much longer now, my brother." She said, walking toward him.
"What's happening to me? What's going on??" He asked in a panic.
"Your body is shifting and growing. You have the blood of Taha Aki in you, you're a shape shifter. You'll protect your tribe from the cold ones." She explained gently.
"Those are just stupid legends!" He screamed as he started to shake.
The stranger sat there, watching him with sad eyes. "They aren't legends, my brother, and they are far from stupid. They're the history of our people." She stood and walked back towards the woods. "You'll need to seek out the council as soon as possible, they'll help guide you."
With that, she turned and walked back into the woods. After a few moments, she stopped. The sound of ripping filled the air followed by the howl of a wolf. With a deep sigh, she continued on.
