"You catch it Pip, catch it" Merry's shouts could be heard from below the tall harvest farmer Maggot had only just grown to perfection. The hobbit's trampled at full speed through the field, a couple of rows in between them. He laughed loudly as he heard the rough and dangerous bark of the dog and the sudden thud on the floor and Pippin lost his, lose and un-careful, footing.

"I Tried to catch it... I tripped over it instead!" Merry burst out laughing as he quickly forced himself through the plants growing proud and tall, a small trail of destruction was left behind him as the stalks were bent any which way but up.

Merry glanced down at the hobbit sprawled out on the floor several potatoes scattered at his feet, bits of vegetable were laid across his chest, dirtying his clothes, the Farmer's dogs bark grew louder and Merry was quickly pulling Pippin onto his feet. "Come on Pip, we're almost out" Merry spoke quickly and excitedly and even before he checked Pippin was alright to keep running Merry took off with all the vegetables he could carry in hand.

He loved this, the feel of running, the chase, the escaping and all of it with his best friend as well no one could ask for more in his opinion he loved his Pippin more than anything and he dreaded the day he would lose his best friend to some girl but hopefully that day would not be coming any time soon. He hoped not at least, though they had been spending more time apart recently but he did not think on that.

"MERRRYYY" Pippin's cry could be heard for a good mile around them, the rough Rottweiler was still barking out. "MEERRRRRY, HE'S GOT ME" again Pippin's voice could be heard for a good mile around. Merry of course stopped in his tracks dropping what he was carrying letting them scatter haphazardly around his feet and bolted in the direction of Pippin.

He couldn't leave him behind it wasn't in his nature. He loved Pippin.

It was when he came across Pippin standing there, a grin spread on his face. Merry could have killed him, in the best possible way of course. "W-what?" he scowled at Pippin and tapped his foot on the floor, crossing his arms across his chest and just watching.

"Just checking" Pippin simply replied as if that explained everything.

"Checking what exactly?" Merry tried to keep the same scowl spread on his face, the panic that had cursed through him had been enough to cripple him.

"Checking that you'd still come back for me… s'all, and you did!" A proud and loving smile spread on Pippin's face, he adored Merry and little things like that reassured him that they'd always be together, no one got left behind.
