Dream Catcher:

Every now and then, John would have a nightmare. He would fall asleep, and even with Sherlock at his side, he would dream of gunshots that sounded so real he would up with his heart pounding wildly in his chest. His eyes would flutter open and he would lie still, forcing himself to breathe. Despite him not moving, Sherlock would immediately open his eyes and ask him if he was all right. He would measure the beats of his heart before he answered. He would always tell him that he was fine but Sherlock always knew that he wasn't. These were the nights when Sherlock would hold him in his arms until he drifted away into a dreamless slumber.
