After the Unscrambling
After the scrambled pet day they had at school when they decided to take their pets there and the consequences they had to endure, Prince James, Princess Amber and Princess Sofia were gladly going home and hoping to forget the whole mess. However, it was easier said than done as evidence by the fact their parents had worried faces. "James, Amber, something horrible happened!" King Roland the Second sadly said.
"We're doing everything we can to find them but we have no news so far." Queen Miranda added.
"Find who, Mom?" Princess Amber asked.
"The Royal Zookeeper cannot find your peacock Praline, Amber." Queen Miranda explained with a hint of sadness.
"The same goes for your baboon Freedo, James." King Roland added.
Prince James and his twin Princess Amber exchanged worried glances and it didn't go unnoticed by their father and their stepmother. "James? Amber? Do you have anything to say?" The King sternly asked.
"Uh, what about Sof's bunny?" James asked in hopes of diverting the subject and wondering what kept her off the hook.
"Clover never took residence in the castle, James." Queen Miranda explained. "He just follows Sofia around."
Realizing there's no hiding anymore, James and Amber revealed Freedo and Praline. "You took your pets to Royal Prep?" King Roland asked.
"I thought it was against school rules." Queen Miranda commented in worry.
"Kids…" The King frowned at them.
"We're sorry." Amber cried. "We wanted a bigger playground and it seemed a good idea back them. But it was James' idea."
"Nobody forced you to play along!" James argued.
"Sofia." The King said while staring at his stepdaughter.
"She had nothing to do with this, Dad." James lied.
"Then why did you bring her bunny into this conversation, James." The King asked in reply.
"Sorry, Sof." James meekly said.
Sofia then showed Clover. "Kids, I'm disappointed with all of you!" The King said. "As punishment, the three of you will help the Royal Zookeeper to care for the castle pets today."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" James and Amber shouted in horror. Sofia, on the other hand, seemed to conform to the idea. James and Amber looked at Queen Miranda with pleading looks in hopes that she'd be merciful. "Good idea, Rollie." She crushed their hopes. "Kids must learn to care for their pets."
"Sofia, take your bunny with you." Her stepfather said. "I'm sure we may spare him some carrots."
"Good!" Clover exclaimed. "I haven't eaten ever since the journey home.
Later, at the zoo, the kids were enduring their punishment. "I can't believe I'm cleaning Praline by myself instead of letting a servant do it." Amber moaned.
"I can't believe a baboon can eat that much." James added as he was feeding Freedo.
"I can't believe this is a punishment." Sofia happily said as she fed Clover and Ginger.
"I'll never understand peasants." Amber commented to herself.
