Ruby, a Girl of Unmatched Grace

Since the first moment I met you, I knew there was something special about you. Something about you made my heart jump, made my breathing slow and my pulse rate go through the roof. The day I met you was the first day of the rest of my life, because on that day I met the love of my life.

Our first date was… well, no way around it, awkward. It didn't start out as a date, just two friends going out for a nice day out. Somehow that day showed me how beautiful you were. I used to use words like hot and sexy to describe how girls looked, but after I met you the only thing I could say was beautiful. It wasn't until later that we had determined that day as our first date.

I'll never forget what your dad told me when I asked for his consent. "As long as you make her happy." That sentence was how I lived the rest of my life with you, doing everything in my mere mortal power to make a goddess like you happy. It sometimes wasn't easy, but I did it all for you. I would brave any storm for your love Ruby.

We had our great times dating, like making our own pizza and the long times we just sat there and looked deep into each other's eyes while we held each other tight. I had never experienced love until I met you Ruby and I shall never waiver on my undying love for you.

When I proposed, tears struck both our eyelids and when you said yes, I was the happiest man alive. Sure, a lot of people say this term about a great many of things, but I truly felt that there was no man alive that could have been happier at that moment in time than I was.

Later on, you bore two wonderful offspring of whom I adore. I never thought I could love someone as much as I do you, but then I saw our cute daughter's eyes that matched yours beautifully, and our son's cute as a button nose which bear close resemblance to yours. For all eternity, I wanted to love and provide for the three of us… but that dream was short-lived…

For reasons beyond either of our control, I can never see my beloved Ruby again. I can never hold her tight and tell her I love her. I can never share those delicate moments of live that I had promised. I can never hear her angelic voice or the laughter of a deity. I can never gaze into your lustrous eyes, wondering how I could have ever been so lucky to be graced with your presence, let alone your love.

Like Robert Frost said, "Nothing gold can stay." Oh how I wish that wasn't true. My love for you is undying and until I breathe my last breath, I will be constantly reminded of your beauty wherever I go. No matter the distance between us, the bond we shared will never break, for our love is strong enough to span the length of time itself.

Forever and always,

Brad
