Highschool Never Ends

A FFVII, VIII, X, and X-2 crossover

In her room, a girl who was 16 years old was babbling on the phone with her best friend. It was 8:00 PM on a Sunday, the soft sunset casting a mix of orange, pink, and lilac shadows over the small island of Besaid.

"Oh, come on, Emily. Just because tomorrow is the first day of school, you're all mopey." Her friend said from the receiver.

"Oh, sure, Yuna. You just can't wait because tomorrow you get to see your great boyfriend again, hang out with your 'group', blah blah blah yada yada yada. Well, I'm not that lucky." She grumbled.

"It's not my fault he's tan. But, then again, why don't you ask one of the guys out? You're popular enough."

"Yeah right. Like a guy as hot as Seph or someone would go out with me. Haha. Reeeeaaaal funny, Yuna."

"I'm serious! It's a totally good idea!"

"Yuna, if you haven't noticed, I'm WAY at the bottom of the popularity list."

"Ugh. Emm, Rikku's on the other line. I'll see you tomorrow morning."

Emily sighed at the dial tone, "Bye then." She said, hung up, and went to bed. That night, she didn't dream.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Emily Akamura hit her alarm clock. However, the wretched beeping didn't stop. With a groan, she climbed out of bed and unplugged it. This was going to be a long day. ((A/N: Happens to me every god damn morning _ I feel her pain...)) After pulling on her school uniform, she went into the bathroom to wash up. Then she walked down the stairs to the kitchen. Her mother and older brother were making breakfast.

"So, how were your late night phone calls?" Her brother asked teasingly.

"Leave me alone, Tutu."

Her brother grimaced. The one pet name he really HATED. His name was actually Tsukino, but his father had started that stupid nickname. Emily smoothed out her skirt. It was a pale blue plaid, quite a pretty color in her opinion. Her shirt was just a simple white sleeveless button-down. There was a knock at the door, so she went to get it. As she opened the door, she found herself staring right at the hottest and most popular guy in her school. Well, okay, there were a lot of good-looking guys in her school, but this was the one she preferred over the rest of them.

"S...S...."

"I know it's awkward, but my mom kicked me out and her car's broken..."

"O-okay.." What she didn't realize was that he was watching her face intently, as if studying the crimson blush spreading across her cheeks. "C-come on in, I guess..."

"Thanks." He stepped in after her and looked around. "Cute house you got here."

"Th-thank you."

He chuckled. He had a very deep voice that always made to seem Emily blush even redder.

"Well, well, Emm, who's your friend?"

"Tutu, don't start." She said, the tone in her voice refelecting the embarassment she was currently trying to hide. Emily walked into the kitchen, the unexpected guest close behind. Her mother looked at her curiously.

"Emily...who is that?" Her mother asked, suspicion rising in her voice.

"Uh, mom, this is a guy from school-"

"My name's Sephiroth. My mom kicked me out, and her car''s broken..."

"Oh! Stay as long as you like!" She said, a smile tilting her lips upward into a perfect cupid's bow. Emily grabbed a granola bar from the cabinet. She turned to face Sephiroth.

"Do you want anything?"

"No, I already ate. But thanks a lot for the offer." He smiled at her.

"well, you two, it's time to go to school. Have fun Emily!"

"Thanks, mom..." She grumbled, turned to Sephiroth, blushed, then opened the door. "After you." She said as he stepped outside.
