So I was a bit somber when I wrote this...and the original has been collecting dust in my notebook, so I fixed it up and decided to post. It's not very long...but I don't think it needs to be. A little love to Sazh because you know, he's pretty cool.

"Daddy?"

Sazh looked down at his son, his wide eyes staring up at him with great concern but also impatience. He did not yet understand what this place meant...and Sazh was still reluctant to tell him. The visit had been going on for a small while, but there really wasn't much of a rush. They still had so much to do. But still...

"Go ahead Dajh. I'm just gonna talk a little more." Dajh nodded, letting his dad run his fingers through his fluffy hair before turning to the stone before them.

"See you later mommy!" Dajh said cheerfully, cupping his hands as the chocobo flapped toward him. He ran off to where Serah was waiting, the girl watching them with a sad, understanding expression. Sazh was grateful to her...he needed the chance to really talk to her, tell her what was going on in the world. It was a little harder with Dajh sometimes...but he wouldn't trade him for anything...

Sazh took a deep breath and placed a hand on the gravestone in front of him, "Hey hon." he began, feeling his throat tighten up, "I know it's been a while since we last came. Sorry about that...things just got really hectic for a while...but we're all okay now." Sazh smiled a little and moved his fingers lovingly across the stone. "Maybe more than okay..."

Sazh closed his eyes and dove into his memories...his wife's gentle touch whenever he needed comfort. Her laugh that was more like a melody, deep and sometimes somber, but uplifting when need be. The way she'd smile at him when he complained about the newest recruits, telling him he was exaggerating and that they'd wind up one of his favorites anyway. The way she had been right. How they had both laughed and cried when they found out she was pregnant...how only he had cried when she found out she would die...

But she wasn't dead...

Maybe she wasn't walking around but...she would never be dead...

"You're always here..." he said, opening his eyes again, "Always." He smiled and stretched, cracking his neck, "Bet you want to know what's been going on though, don't ya? I can only tell you a little though..." He began talking first and foremost...about his and Dajh's encounter with the fal-cie. He blushed and lamented to his wife, knowing she'd understand. "There's more..." he said, scratching the back of his neck, "And let me tell you it's a doozy." Dajh was running up to him, a big smile on his face, "But it'll have to wait a little while. I promise though, it'll be worth it." he gave the stone one last pat, promising to continue next week, before he scooped Dajh up in his arms.

"So how is she?" he asked, innocent curiosity in his features.

"Just fine." Sazh answered, a slight twinkle in his eye, "Just fine."
