Caitlyn sat miserably on the bus bench. Her day was going horribly. She had forgotten her homework at home, spilled soda on her favourite blouse and missed her bus because the teacher put her in detention.

Staring at her feet, she almost missed the sound of someone approaching. Glancing up, Caitlyn caught the eye of the boy starting to sit next to her and smiled slightly. Normally, she would have started a conversation but she was too depressed today. Losing interest in the boy next to her, she resumed staring into space as she waited for the bus.

Jason approached the bus bench taking note of the girl staring unhappily at the ground. He slid gingerly onto the bench and smiled at the girl when she glanced at him. She smiled back slightly and looked away again. Jason frowned; he hated seeing anyone unhappy. He cast around for anything to cheer up the unknown girl. He was beginning to look through his bag when an idea struck him.

Re-zipping his bag, he began his plan with a little apprehension. Imitating a cell phone, he patted his pockets as if searching for his 'phone'. Gesturing to the girl, he saw her minutely shift away from him. Feeling slightly more discouraged, he continued searching for the 'phone' and reached into his bag.

Caitlyn looked up again when the boy next to her started making weird cell phone noises. She could see him patting his pockets and looking around, as if searching for the ringing 'phone'. Silently wondering if she should call the mental home, she shifted away just when he gestured at her. Caitlyn could see that he was becoming discouraged but he continued pretending to be a ringing phone. She watched him as he reached into his bag and pull out a pop bottle. She began to smile as he twisted the lid and 'answered the phone'. She met his eyes as he smiled and held it out to her with an "It's for you." Blushing, Caitlyn took it from him and smiled back, feeling her day brighten.

Jason reached into his bag and pulled out the pop he had just bought. He twisted the lid and pretended to 'answer' it. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the girl watching him. Smiling, Jason held out the bottle to her saying "It's for you." He watched as she blushed as she took it from him. She smiled back at him and Jason felt his heart fill with the joy that he had made one person's day a little bit brighter.

A/N This is just a cute little one shot. It's actually based off a commercial I saw once. I wrote it really quick but it didn't turn out quite like I wanted it too. I hope you like it anyway. I own absolutely nothing.
