Don't own Skyrim. This is based on what happens when your A button finger slips.
The offending item sat between them, scrutinised by three sets of piercing eyes until Nazir finally spoke. "What were you thinking?" He demanded. "Of all things to recover, you chose that."
Rubbing a hand down her face, Heidi continued digging in her bag, producing the weathered texts Astrid had kept in the front rooms, a few nightshade flowers that had survived, and the Blade of Woe. The meagre collection of items was all that was left of their home, their Sanctuary. What Nazir had been referring to was the silver plate that had been sitting on their table just...how long had it been?
Babette bit her bottom lip, scooping up the nightshade and leaving the room with them, stopping to pick up a jug on the way out.
When the Dawnstar Sanctuary was completed, the three remaining members of the Family sat together in the dining hall, scraping their meal out of the bowls, not speaking to each other. They'd been hard at work, helping to put banners up, plant alchemy ingredients and positioning the Night Mother's coffin in a corner, well lit and decorated with skulls. When Babette went to hunt, Nazir and Heidi intended to drag Cicero's body out of hiding and either drop him in the sea, or burn him on a bonfire.
But for now they were sitting in awkward silence, left to their own thoughts. Finally sick of the silence, Heidi strung a bow and left for the training room. The release of the bowstring could be heard for an hour afterward.
Slowly but surely, the Sanctuary hit a new lease of life. With the assassination of the Emperor sending shockwaves throughout Skyrim, the Dark Brotherhood was more in demand than ever. Two new members appeared, darting off whenever a contract needed fulfilling, and returning eager for praise. Babette returned to her alchemy table, and was even taking instruction in archery for those nights when hunting was boring.
For his part, Nazir continued to give out lesser contracts, and learnt how to cook without using the Gourmet's book.
The whole time, no one noticed the nightshade beginning to blossom again, water leaking from the jug onto the silver plate.
So yeah, I accidentally picked up a plate and couldn't bear to drop it. Not my best work, but...Review pwease?
