There all the avengers stood, facing the wolf-man that threatened to kill their captain. He was a werewolf of some sort; a human with glowing green eyes, sharp, dripping fangs, fuzzy wolf ears, very acute claws, and a tail. He called himself Skull the Wolf Man. The avengers' captain, Steve Rogers, stepped forward, his shield gripped firmly in his left hand. "Stand down, Skull," He ordered sharply, his sapphire eyes sparkling with life.

Skull let lose a dramatic chuckle, his emerald-green eyes flashing in amusement. He shook his head, a toothy grin spreading across his face. "You really think I'm going to take orders from some snobby kid, who's pretending to be a hero? Feh!" He spat, waving his hand as if that would shoo the man away.

Steve frowned, eyes hardening at the enemy's words. "No. I am not pretending to be a hero. I am trying to be a solider." He responded, advancing closer to the wolf-man.

"Steve…." Came Black Widow's voice from behind. She was warning him not to get too close; they didn't know what this villain was capable of. Not yet.

He glanced over his shoulder and gave her a nod before returning his gaze to Skull. "I guess we're going to have to do this the hard way." Steve sighed heavily.

The wolf-man suddenly leaped at the Captain, slashing him across the neck. His claws were sharp enough to tear through the collar of Steve's suit.

Steve fell back with the force of the attack, landing hard on his back. He used his legs to throw the wolf-man off of him and across the room, then he struggled to his feet, brushing himself off. The wound on his neck stung badly, but he ignored it. "Where's Loki's scepter?" He demanded. Skull had stolen it from Asgard a few days ago. They weren't sure how he'd managed to get there, but they'd put that aside for now. Retrieving the scepter was their main priority at this moment.

"The scepter…..hmm….." Skull put one of his claws to his chin, looking up at the roof as he pretended to ponder about where the scepter was. "You mean…..this….scepter?" The wolf-man pulled the scepter from behind his back. He smirked wickedly, cradling the scepter in his hands.

"Hand it over," Steve demanded.

Skull continued to smirk wickedly as he tossed the scepter to Steve. "Here, catch!"

Steve raced forward without a moment's thought, catching the scepter in his hand. Suddenly a blue aura of light surrounded him and his eyes turned completely red. He rose a few feet off the ground, his hair flowing as a sudden wind picked up. He screamed, a blue mist swirling around his body. A bright light shone from the scepter until the avengers lost sight of their Captain completely. Then all at once, the lights faded away, revealing the sight of a black winged wolf lying there upon the floor.

Skull had taken this opportunity to flee, so he was nowhere to be seen. But the winged wolf was lying there, wearing Steve's uniform, his shield strapped to his upper left leg.

Bruce was the first to step forward. He kneeled down beside the wolf, checking its pulse and breathing. A quick check revealed that both were fine. "Guys….." He whispered, mouth open in awe. "This wolf….." He murmured, glancing behind him to look at them. "This wolf is Steve,"
