Lunchtime Liaison

Hermione giggled as George drew her in for another kiss around the backs on the Greenhouses. It was lunchtime and each had given an excuse to their respective groups of friends about where they were disappearing to; Hermione had told Ron and Harry she was going to go to the library to study, and George had told Fred and Lee that he had been summoned to McGonagall's office about some discrepancy or other with his homework.

They heard a whistling in the distance bursting the bubble the pair had created. They dashed off to hide behind a nearby rock, and breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that it was only Professor Pomona Sprout.

It wasn't that the pair felt ashamed of their relationship, but that they just wanted to keep it to themselves for a while. Plus neither of them wanted to hurt Ron's feelings, as it was a well known fact that he had been pining for Hermione for the last couple of years.

George placed his arm around Hermione's shoulder as he led her towards another of their favourite secluded spots just on the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

"Why do you put up with me?" George asked Hermione out of the blue as they walked.

"Love is needing someone. Love is putting up with someone's bad qualities because they somehow complete you." She replied as if it was the simplest thing in the world. "And you George Weasley complete me."

Hermione knew that she was being soppy in that moment, which is why she was so taken aback when George returned the sentiment with complete and sincere honesty, that she turned to him so rapidly that she fell and cut her arm.

George bent down and whispered, "Not to worry, I'll fix that in a jiffy."

"You do know that you aren't an actual Healer, don't you?" Hermione laughed as she moved her hand to wipe away the few small droplets of blood that had appeared on her arm.

George caught Hermione's hand and laughed before taking a tissue from his pocket and wiping her cut and then he kissed her arm and muttered, "All better darling. See I am a healer."

Hermione laughed as George helped her back up to her feet, and together they made their way back up towards the castle.

In the entrance hall, George embraced her tightly before they parted ways and whispered in her ear, "Don't be a stranger."

Hermione laughed and the turned to make her way up the staircase and towards her next class, already missing George's infectious personality.
