Prologue
Nathan watched Haley sleeping, she looked so peaceful. He saw her eyes flutter open and smiled. he reached down to kiss her.
"Hey"
"Hi." She smiled back.
"I have to go," he said softly.
Haley's smiled droped and and she turned facing the wall.
"I can't live live that anymore," she whispered.
"It won't always be like that." Nathan promised, gently caressing her arm.
"You've said that so many times already, I'm not sure you even believe it anymore."
Nathan got up and picked up his discarded clothes. He got dressed and headed towards the door.
"I love you," he locked his eyes with hers. "Don't ever forget that."
"I love you too."
With a last smile, he left.
"That's why it hurts so much." She whispered in the silence.
