Jelly Babies Save the Day

Holding a lantern aloft before him and trailing his impossibly long scarf behind, the Doctor rounded a corner in the dark, musty cavern in which he happened to have landed. Suddenly, what could only be described as a monster loomed ahead of him.

The creature was the foulest, nastiest being the Doctor had laid eyes on in quite some time, and he had seen some foul, nasty beings. Standing nearly seven feet tall, it was green and dripping slime. The stench was horrific.

The monster blinked and then roared. The Doctor stood his ground and slowly reached into his pocket. He pulled out a small, white bag that was slightly crumpled and held it out to the beast.

"Jelly Baby?" he asked.

At that moment the Tardis' telepathic translator finally isolated the exact species of the animal. The Doctor was only slightly surprised when he heard in guttural English: "Why yes, thank you, I would love one. I have been craving something sweet for ages but everyone just runs from me."
