The dialogue belongs to the writers of CSI. I borrowed it but since my only payment comes in the form of reviews, I'm breaking no laws...at least I don't think I am. I have observed Gil and Catherine admiring a certain part of each other's anatomy over the years. This is one thought I had after watching Inside the Box. Hope you enjoy my little fantasy.

Gil Grissom sat in a hospital gown on the examination table in an exam room at Desert Palm Hospital. A nurse checked his blood pressure and then removed the cuff from his arm. "They're preparing the surgery right now, Mr. Grissom. I'll be right back."
Grissom sat quietly, lost in his own thoughts until Catherine appeared in the doorway. " Hey."
Turning to look at her, he was surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to see you. And I didn't want you to go in without wishing you good luck."
He was glad she had come but couldn't quite shake the melancholy that prevaded his thoughts. It was nice to have someone care, however.
An orderly came into the room with the wheel chair for Grissom. He stood up and walked over to Catherine. "Thank you ... for being here." His words sounded awkward and uncomfortable, but she knew he was sincere. She hugged him for luck. Nervously he accepted her embrace and then parted. Looking at the orderly he said, " I don't need that." Grissom walked out of the room, trying his best to look unconcerned.
Catherine turned to do what she always did, watch his tush as he walked away. It was then that she realized how truly nervous he must really be; he had forgotten one of the basic facts of hospital gowns...they don't close in the back too well. Smiling, her eyes drank in a special treat; Gil Grissom's bare ass making it's way down the hall. And what an ass! She knew that sometime in the future, when this was a distant memory for him, she would tease him with it and let him know just how truly appreciated he was that day.
