Chapter 1: The Proclamation.
After a long battle with the vile villain group "The Sinister Six", the Avengers are able to defeat them along with the help of Spider-Man. After parting ways with the young web slinger The Avengers head back to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier go to their respective chambers. Captain America heads cleans himself up from the battle and lays in his bed. As he drifts off into sleep he begins to toss and turn. He thrashes around inn his bed as he dreams of a horrible tragedy. The images and things he hears are jarring.
"Captain!"
"No! "
"This can't be real."
"*Screams*".
"Bwaaa" says Captain America as he awakes abruptly from his slumber. As he sits up breathing heavily and visibly shaken, he questions why he is having such horrible dreams. Dreams of his death; falling in front of his comrades and citizens. He thinks that maybe this is just his fears playing tricks on him. His fear that one day he will fail to protect everyone.
"I need to relax" says Steve.
"Dreams are just dreams. No need to worry. This doesn't mean a thing."
"Or does it?" says an ominous voice.
Captain America leaps out of bed and lands across his bedroom, ready for action. He grabs his shield of the wall as his eyes scan the room for the source of the voice.
"Reveal yourself" shouts the Captain.
"I will in time Captain" says the mysterious voice.
"And when I do. You shall be the first to die. Tell your teammates that you all will fall in battle and suffer. In one months' time terror will strike New York City and there is where the end shall begin."
"Why are you telling me this? Won't this hinder your plans?" questions Captain America
"I love to see my prey scurry and prepare for the worst. I find enjoyment in the pointlessness as your doom is inevitable."
"Pretty confident aren't you. The Avengers will not fall." Says Cap
'"But you've already witnessed it yourself." Says the mysterious voice.
"Who are you?!" Shouts Captain America. There was no response. And with that Cap sprints across the room and hits the intercom.
"AVENGERS ASSEMBLE" yells the first Avenger.
