Synopsis
Austin puts applicants through a series of tests in order to find a partner for his next assignment.
OPENING TEASER
ESTABLISHING SHOT: A series oF shots of LONDON in the distance.
As we zoom in, we eventually come upon a PARADE. This one is the ENGLISH equivalent of a New York style ticker tape parade. Its star is Austin Powers who can be seen waving to the crowds. Dr. Evil and friends are trailing behind in cages.
NARRATOR: (VO) [Michael York] Yes, the world is safe once again thanks to Austin Powers. In our last installment, Austin had successfully stopped Dr. Evil and his henchmen from ...HEY, WAIT A MINUTE !..
We then hear the SOUND of a record suddenly scratching to a STOP.
NARRATOR: (Cont)...this isn't where we...left off!?
We ZOOM IN on Austin. Everything suddenly goes quiet except for some audio feedback.
AUSTIN: Uh, hello ..
Austin TAPS microphone.
AUSTIN: (Cont) I m sorry to interrupt Mr. Narrator, but I m afraid we ve had to make a last minute ..CHANGE.
The crowd CHEERS. Begins CHANTING CHANGE. Austin soaks it in.
DR. EVIL (To himself, looking around) Change is good.
AUSTIN: Forget the last installment!
CROWD CHEERS.
Austin: Was it that bad?
Dr. Evil nods in agreement.
CROWD LAUGHS.
Austin: We re going to go back one last time!
CROWD WOOS.
Austin: (Cont) to just before..
CROWD SIGHS.
Austin (Cont) the first in- ..
CROWD LEAKS A CHEER, THEN SUDDENLY GOES QUIET.
Austin: ...in...in...
CROWD LEAKS CHEER. THEN SUDDENLY GOES QUIET.
Austin: (Cont) ins-..inst- install-MMMMM
The CROWD CHEERS.
Austin: (Cont) ...Ah, Simon didnt say!
Crowd laughs.
Austin: (Cont)...to just before the first installment!
CROWD BREAKS OUT IN CHEERS.
Austin: We are going to take a psychedelic magic bus trip to another universe of possibility. How groovy is that?
The crowd roars with cheers.
Austin: Mr. narrator, please do continue.
The PARADE continues.
NARRATOR [Michael York] Well, that sounds interesting Austin. Ah, let me see where did I leave off...yes..here we are...
We go into a psychedelic MATCH DISSOLVE into the next scene...
