Written late at night when my muse suddenly returned to me. Enjoy!
"Gravity is a certain, unchangeable force," they told her. "Whatever goes up must come down."
Yet, she proved them wrong. No longer was gravity her master, she now could defy it at will, not ever nature's forces could restrain her power. She was now free from excepting limits that they had told her to obey for so long.
She now had her own rules, morals and laws, and was no longer fooled by the Wizard's lies. As the Witch, she was changing things people thought couldn't be changed and doing things that were thought impossible to accomplish. In a word, she was positively unlimited in everything she did, no matter the task
However, unknown to her, they were right about one thing. As far up as she went and as long as she stayed in the air, a young girl brought her back down to Earth eventually. As the water in a little pail pulled her down, she vanished from the skies. Young Dorothy was too late though, Elphaba Thropp had been in the sky long enough. Because of her defiance of any limit, including gravity itself, Oz was now changed forever.
I love reviews!
