Author's Notes: I always knew there was a reason I liked Espeons. -smirk- So please enjoy the story and feel free to critique on anything I need to work on. But also take into account that this was made at 3 o'clock in the morning under the influence of ice cream.

Thank you.

Disclaimer: I do not and shall never own Yu-Gi-Oh GX, Pokemon, Ruby Carbuncle, or Johan Anderson… no matter how much I want the last one especially.

Ume blinked.

"Hey! It's an Espeon!"

Johan scrambled up next to the trainer's side to look at what she was staring at.

"Eh? That's not an Es…pe…on, that's my Ruby Carbuncle," He said indignantly.

She shook her head.

"No, that's definitely an Espeon," She declared loudly.

Johan swiped the card out of her hand and pocketed it.

"I won't let you insult Ruby by calling her a… an… Espreon?" "Espeon," Ume supplied.

"And being an Espeon is not an insult," She sniffed, turning her head, almost saying that she now refused to look at him.

Johan crossed his legs and looked at her. "I am sorry Ume-chan…" He said softly.

"By the way, what exactly is an Espeon?"

Ume looked back at him and almost immediately her mood changed; Johan could tell by the way she grinned.

"A Pokemon," She said. "Would you like me to show you?"

And before he could even respond, Ume had whipped out a small red and white sphere with a button in the middle. She pressed it and it popped open, releasing a sleek, lavender feline. It swished its tail and mewed gently.

Johan gaped as Ruby appeared from her hiding spot underneath his bed. She yelped when she caught sight of the Espeon and nearly clawed her way to Johan's shoulder.

And Johan, however… was still staring at the Espeon wide-eyed and open-mouthed looking between it and Ruby repeatedly.

They did look the same. The only differences were the size, eye color, and tail ends. While Ruby had her characteristic ruby eyes, Espeon had dark obsidian eyes that looked almost knowing and Ruby's tail had a red orb at the end while Espeon had a two-pronged tail.

"Johan-kun… why do you keep looking at your shoulder?" He looked away from Ruby and blushed bashfully.

"No reason…" He said quickly. "But you weren't lying… If I didn't know better, I would think Espeon was Ruby's mother!"

Ume scratched her cheek. "Er… right, but Johan-kun…"

"They are almost identical, it's uncanny actually, I mean, sure the eye color and tails are different, but still–"

"Johan-kun–"

"Who would have guessed? One of your Pokemons looking like my duel spirit!"

"Johan…"

"Sugoi! It doesn't get any better than–"

"Johan!"

Johan finally stopped and looked at Ume.

"Nani? What is it Ume-chan?"

She heaved a long sigh.

"It is not possible at all, no matter how alike they look, that Espeon could ever be Ruby's mother."

Johan stared at her dumbstruck.

"But why not? You yourself pointed out how alike they look."

"I did," She nodded. "But…"

"But what?"

She gave a dramatic pause before finally saying…

"Espeon's a boy."

The End.
