When Even Desert Sand Would Cry

Through the dark, silver night of a moonlit land,

Nothing dares to move, not even the trees who stand.

And the only interruption that it would ever allow,

Would be the presence of on elven princess, to whom even trees would bow.

And as she glides along on her swift, galiant steed,

Her long brown hair flows like 1000 beads.

With her pointed ears and green leaf-like eyes,

She would surpass even the fairest woman, no lies.

But this perfect life that she may seem to posses,

Is not quite what it seems, you couldn't possibly guess.

For not to long ago when this princess was riding through her land,

She stumbled upon a handsome elf, who looked as though he was from her dreamland.

Though cliché, I'd call it love at first site,

For that's exactly what it was on this very special night.

It was like a love that was only dreamt of by a god,

But it was very true and remained unflawed.

They held the perfect life and quite some time went by,

Until one dreadful night when even desert sand would cry.

She screamed his name and cried for him well past the rising sun,

Only to find that she received no answer on where her love had gone.

Not giving up she continued her search beyond the passing days,

Soon running out of places to search as if it was a maze.

But in her heart she knew that somewhere he was searching for her too,

And perhaps that's the only reason she kept going, because she truly knew.

It was like she needed nothing more from life except to find her love,

Otherwise she would never dream again, or reach the heavens above.

So night after night she continued her search not caring where she tread,

Not if it meant she'd find her love, so often times she bled.

This princess still did search the lands for many years to come,

Never ceasing for anything, not even for a crumb.

For while she searched only one thing stayed on her mind so true,

It was that when she found her love she could finally say it was worth it just for you.
