Snape looked at Voldemort, his cold red cold eyes staring intently at him.
"My Lord!" Snape protested. He could not leave now, he had to get Potter out of here even if it was the last thing he did.
"It cannot be any other way." said Voldemort coldly "I must master the wand and I shall succeed in mastering Potter at last, the 'Chosen One' will lose"
Voldemort swiped the air with the elder wand but nothing happened. Or so that's what Snape thought. His intentions became clear when he sighted the snake's cage floating through the air. All he could do was yell. It had encased him head and shoulders.
Looking at Voldemorts dead red eyes, and his white skin, it was a shock too imagine that anything could live inside something like that. He heard a menacing whisper, Parceltongue. Kill. Snape screamed with all his might as what colour Snape had left in his left permanently.
"I regret it" said Voldemort coldly.
He turned away, there was no sadness in him, no remorse. He had no care for human life. Snape fell sideways on to the floor with blood gushing from his wounds. The pain was unbearable and his sight was going in and out of focus. Voldemort had no backwards glances as his great serpent, Nagini floated after him in its huge protective sphere.
He had no hope. Suddenly he heard footsteps appearing behind him and saw of all the people in the world, the person he would want to see the most. Harry Potter. Snape seized the front of Potters robes begging. With all his strength he managed to gurgle
"Take… it… Take… it…"
Harry could not say anything, he didn't know what too say. He collected Snape's memories into a flask and then sealed it. At least he wont think I'm such a monster. His job was done, what he would never be able to tell Potter was now in his hands. He could feel his grip on life slowing, he wanted to give up. Go to Lily, just to see her beautiful face.
"Look… at… me…" he whispered weakly knowing that this was his last chance to see his face. What he had been missing for most of his life. Why his heart felt so hollow every day.
Harry looked at Snape with those piercing green eyes… Lily's eyes.
He had seen Lily's eyes once more and for the last time.
