disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail!
Time to go to church! I thought to myself as I put on a nice dark blue dress. The entire guild was going, because Erza had insisted that she loved the
scent of candles. Natsu and Happy were coming with me, and were currently raiding my refrigerator. I looked at my watch.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed, making Happy drop his fish. We had fifteen minutes left to get to church! Happy flew me while Natsu
ran below. We got to church in world record timing, but the doors had closed. All that rush for nothing... "Luigi!" Natsu called. "I found an open window!"Before, I would
have made him into a practice dummy for Lucy Kick, but instead, I let this one slide. It was Christmas Eve, right? Time to be forgiving! I peeked into the window, and
watched the service unfold. The only part I payed attention to was when the candles were lit. The tiny fire moved shadows around the room. It was just like Natsu's fire,
full of warmth and hope, for a better tomorrow.
But the funny thing was, it was weirdly different from Natsu's fire.
It had a different kind of radiance.
A different kind of flame.
A different kind of warmth.
A different kind of fire.
Natsu had Dragon Fire.
The Candles themselves had a fire that was the stuff of legends, that Natsu only used once. A golden fire, the kind of fire that you can only use, when you
CARE so much that you would do anything in your power to make them stay alive.
You don't CARE how hard it's going to be, you're going to do it anyway!
Because, you CARE about your NAKAMA!
And if you've ever felt these feelings, then you've wielded the golden fire, the golden fire of HOPE, and DREAMS.
Natsu also stared, entranced, at the fire. His eyes seemed like coal burning in a fire.
Then, using the golden flame, he lit some beeswax candles.
The faint smell of honey filled the air as he smiled at me.
"Merry Christmas Luce."
"Merry Christmas Natsu."
We both smiled as the golden fire winked and sparked.
