Your Lie - a Secret of Mana poem
Disclaimer: Secret of Mana belongs to Square.
From my birth,
You raised me with love.
You said you loved me,
To the moon and sun above.
Yet when I pulled the sword,
You turned your back on me.
You and the people of Potos.
A bad omen, as far as you could see.
The citizens cast me out,
Angry, hateful, full of scorn,
I waited for you to defend me,
You looked so forlorn.
But you took their side.
My heart shattered, I was alone and lost.
You threw me to the wolves.
You knew what defending me would cost.
Why? Why did you betray me?
That was all I wanted to know.
You cannot comprehend,
The gravity of this crushing blow.
With anger in my heart,
I left the place I once called home.
I don't intend to come back.
Across the continent I roam.
You lied to me. You lied.
When I pulled the sword,
You chose Potos over me.
Am I now someone you abhorred?
In my soul, there is a scar.
One that will never fade.
Too deep, nothing can heal it.
This scar is one you made.
The very concept of love,
Was shattered by one little line.
I will find my family, one that loves me.
One that is truly, truly mine.
