Rose Weasley walked down the halls of Hogwarts off to Herbology. Along the corridor, her books clutched to her chest, she heard some strange noises.

"Oi! Watch where you're going, first year!" barked a rather souring sounding sixth year.

"Sorry, I guess I was just studying for my upcoming test." squeaked the eleven-year old, picking up his copy of 'One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi'.

Rose picked up her pace with her wand at the ready. As she rears a corner, she sees Jeffery McDougal about to cast a curse at the feeble Scorpius Malfoy.

"Expelliarmus!"

Jeffery's wand flew from his hand and went to Rose. The boys looked in astonishment at the smirking first year.

"Leave him alone, McDougal, my cousin James will make your legs filled with jelly if you don't stop!" Rose's face went from snaring and domineering to red faced. He got over his temporary confusion and went stomping over to the auburn haired girl. McDougal picked Rose up by her collar and threw her against the wall, "Give it back, Weasley." He said in gritted teeth.

Eyes filled with furry and determination in her heart, Rose handed his wand back to him and he let go of her. Confusion swept over Scorpius as McDougal stalked off down the corridor.

"Hello, I'm Rose Weasley." Rose stuck her hand out for him to shake but he didn't.

"I don't understand...why did you save me? And why did you give him his wand back with no complaint?" Scorpius inquired.

Rose chuckled. "You'll see tomorrow. Now we must get to class."

The two continued to stroll down the hallway.

"What did you say your name was again?"

"Malfoy. Scorpius Malfoy."

The next day Jeffery McDougal was in the Hospital Wing for a rather nasty Bat-Bogey Hex.
