Well the flow of this poem isn't quite how I'd like it in parts...but my
poetry is never quite as good. R&R please.]
Eyes full of pain,
I gaze into their silvery depths,
My tears fall like rain,
I cannot do this,
Leave him all alone,
But nor can I stay here;
The land I called my home,
What can I do,
To ease this painful parting?
What can I say,
To ease our tears' flowing?
And then I look at Arwen,
Elladan, Elrohir,
And I know,
It is suddenly very clear,
I place my hand upon his face,
Then I gently smile,
Though the tears still drop;
silver stars, in single file,
I whisper to him, "Elrond,
When I seem too far,
Look into our daughter's eyes,
You will see me like a star,
I will be in every laugh,
Every smile, every tear,
Of our children; My
Love, never fear,
Stand out on a hillside,
Feel the wind on your face,
Let it rip through your hair,
Taste its living grace,
My love is like the wind to you;
Though you cannot see its glare,
You can feel it, and
You will know it is there."
