Pain comes within.
This will be the opening chapter to a series of one-shot/ poems about the sadder side of the Sonic Universe. I will try to include most of the cast, but it will probably focus mainly on Shadow.
"Cosmo." Tails said staring at the once occupied area of outer space. He felt so alone, like a warm blanket had been taken from his shoulder.
"I will love you forever, my friend, I love you." Tails sighed. He wiped his moist face, and walked up to the control panel. It was oozing blood all over it, as if Cosmo had died right there. Tails blinked and rubbed his eyes, the blood was gone.
He felt like a murderer.

Sonic glanced upward at the starry sky, a small tear in the corner of his eye. Why did they die? Cosmo was an innocent 8 year old, and Shadow was... strong, deep, and thoughtful. Sonic let out a sigh and joined his friends at the memorial.
Sonic looked at his brother, who was silently standing on the edge of the ship. He began to walk over to him. Tails turned around and looked up at Sonic.
"Sonic... um." Tails murmured. Sonic just kept coming. Finally he shoved a small white seed in his hand. Tails looked at for moment and then glanced up at Sonic.
"A seed?"He asked. "All you have left of her is a seed? I THOUGHT YOU COULD SAVE HER! YOU LIED TO ME!" Tails screamed, pounding Sonic and bursting into tears. Everyone looked over in shock, but decided not to come closer. The tears felt so pointless, yet they were there. Stinging every cell, squeezing the very emotion from him. He felt like he was going to explode, everything hurt so badly and yet all he could do was scream at his best friend.
"She's gone, and I all I have left of her is a seed?!" Tails sobbed. "A stupid tiny seed! Just a speck of her, just a speck!"
Cream burst into tears again, throwing her face into Amy's chest.
Sonic sighed. It wasn't going to the same without Cosmo. Everyone had realised that. She was gone and nothing would bring her back.
