Ending Darkness
A shadow ran towards me charging its ice beam. I turned around and stabbed it with my sword.
" Ugh,"said the shadow.
I dropped down to loot it when another shadow came. I did a backflip in the air and stabbed it, narrowly missing its headbutt.
"There never seems to be any end to the shadows eh?" I questioned myself while bending down to loot the other shadow.
"You're right Ryosuki," said my hunting partner Celebryl, an archeress who had been my friend since we were 6.
"Shoot! I ran out mana potions and I have only 10 more health ones!!" I said "You got anymore Celebryl?
"I'm almost out too"
"Let's bolt."
"Ok"
We ran off towards town.
2 hours later
We ran panting through town gates and immediately ran towards the potions shop.
"Hi boys" said the old lady who owned the potion shop "What can I get you?"
"We'd like 100 white potions please," I said,"and 200 blue potions too."
"That'll be 70,000 mesos."
We paid and ran to the park, where there was a large crowd gathering in Mushroom Park.
"I'll go find out what's going on ok?"Said Celebryl.
"Ok," I said.
She walked up to a man and asked him what was going on he said,"I dunno but you should ask Athena."
We were about to walk up to Athena when she yelled,"I am pretty sure you are all curious as to why we are all gathered here. I am pretty sure all of you know about the war against the shadows."
Many people rolled their eyes at this comment but continued listening.
"Our top scientists from all over the Maple world have been working on a joint project for 6 years. Now the project is finished. Now this may sound stupid but in recent years scientists have discovered other dimensions with life in them. There is the realm of Rasther. It looks much like Omega sector and is highly advanced in technology. There is also another dimension called Hurande which we have not explored yet, and Enurgarde which seems to be highly advanced in magic and technology. Now you are also wondering what we have to do with this. We are losing the shadow war. It seems that shadows do not reproduce. Instead they take over a body and add it to the hordes that are already there. So in effect while we lose one of us they gain another. We would like to get allies for the war so we will send a group of delegates to each dimension. Do not worry the machine is perfectly safe as we have tested it more than 100 times. Not one time has it failed. And a trained scientist will be accompanying each group. Town leaders are telling everyone else at the moment too. We are holding auditions in 8 weeks (A.N. Lack of better words sorry) as to who will be joining the delegates and who will accompany them as protection if the realm's people get hostile. There will be a list of requirements to go on the trip. They will be posted outside my office and anyone who volunteers and takes part in the trip will earn 5 billion mesos each. That is all.
I looked at Celebryl and said "we should see the requirements if you want to go volunteer."
"Alright,"
We walked to Athena's office and looked at the requirements.
You must be at least a 3rd job
You must be able to fight or heal if you are going as protection
You must be courageous
"Well we meet all of those except the 3rd job part."
"Yeah. But Athena said we had eight weeks to train for the tryouts. I'm level 're level 59. We can probably make 70 in 6 weeks and it leaves two weeks for the third job advancement. I'm sure we'll make it." said Celebryl.
"Well we gotta try it."
