Chapter 1-Naraku and his connection to the family
There is a lord that was an enemy of her family looking for her. He never liked the fact that her father married her mother when he wanted to. He was 10 years older whereas her father was only 5 months older. Kagome's mother was a girl from the village just outside his cousin's manor was also her travel companion/handmaiden. Keiko (Kagome's mother) had traveled with Katie (Bankotsu's cousin) when she went to visit with him for a couple of weeks. They had been best friends and later got married. The main reason Naraku wanted to marry Keiko was so that e could get the Shikon-no-toma or Jewel of Four Souls that Keiko would eventually inherit and was furious when he found out that Bankotsu married her and ruined his chances of getting it. He knew if her parents were killed kagome would inherit it as she was the last surviving member of her family and that she would have it or at least know where it was.
