Fireworks

My little Fourth of July Fic. Bonding with Bruce, Jazz and Dick. Hope you like it! And Happy Fourth of July!

Disclaimer: I own nothing but Jay

The Fourth of July had finally rolled around, the first one Jasmine and Dick had every spent at Wayne Manor.

"So, do you two want to go see the fireworks?" Bruce asked his children.

"I guess. I don't think they will match the circus's." Jasmine said. Bruce smiled.

The Bats waited until about noon and got into costume and headed to the Watchtower. They arrived and were greeted by the other proteges and heroes. They watched as Superman flew outside and began zapping things that created colorful sparks that fizzled everywhere. The twins were completely mesmerized. Batman smiled down at his two children who were hypnotized by the display.

After the fireworks, they ate and the Bats went down to Wayne Manor again. After spending the day with Bruce and Alfred, Bruce led his two children up to the roof. They sat down on top of a blanket. There was nothing, but Bruce pointed out over Gotham. Suddenly, the sky, to put it simply, erupted.

Over the entirety of Gotham, colorful explosions painted the night sky. Bruce sat between his kids as smirked as their jaws dropped. The sparks of color seemed to flutter and dance a certain way that only Gotham could seem to manage. They leaned onto their father as they gazed over the city.

"This place has the best view of Gotham." Bruce said as he watched with his children.

"This is amazing..." Richard breathed.

"Better than Superman?" Bruce asked. The twins chuckled and nodded, causing Bruce to smile smugly.

The trio then watched in silence till the the kids fell asleep beside their father. He smiled soflty and gently lifted his wards and brought them back down to the house and put them in bed. He looked at them as he left their room and smiled.

"Better than Superman..." he whispered. He'd have to remember to tell the Big Blue Boy Scout that.

The two twins just had one of the best Independence Days ever.

Why?

Not because of the fireworks, you can get those everywhere.

Not because they got to go to the Watchtower.

Because they got to be with their father and watch the sky explode with color. They got to spend that one special moment with the one who had loved them when no one else was there to.

And they would never forget that.

Shortest thing I have ever written, but this was meant to be really short. Hope you liked it! Please review!
