Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight or else NOTHING would ever come between Bella and Edward. And yeah he would've never left her. They would be married and having beautiful babies.

Author's Note: This is for my best friend Bryan…who read it and deemed it worthy of posting.

Bella's Choice

Bella stands there. She's repeating words in her head. Words Jacob had said. "You have to choose." It was like a curse, choking her, robbing her of all words. She'd always known she'd have to make this decision one day, but she'd put it in the back of her mind, thinking that if she forgot it they would too. But they didn't.

Their hatred for each other runs deep. It's nothing against who they are, but rather what they are. The prejudice has existed for generations, but now there is a tense peace. A peace Bella's choices could maintain or break. The fate of a generation, the possibility of war rests on Bella's shoulders. And it's strangling her.

She knows she won't choose Jacob even though he's her best friend. Even though she loves him, yet doesn't. A part of her needs him, but that part is not enough. It's not enough for her to choose him. Although it'll hurt, Bella knows she can live without him.

However, she can't live without Edward. Trying to live without Edward is like living without air, it's just not gonna happen. He's her everything and without him life is meaningless. It's just not worth it unless he's there. She can't leave him. Their love is too great.

Essentially she's already made her choice. She has only to voice it. And when she breaks Jacob's heart, she does it gently. When she accepts the bite, she starts a war. But most of all when she takes Edwards hand for eternity she chooses love. And that is Bella's choice.
