Drabble #69: Sofa
Summary: A little cuddle makes you ready for anything.

"Are you okay Cloud?" Aeris asked as she walked into the Hotel lobby to find the blonde leader sitting on one of the sofas, deep in thought. He looked up when she spoke and gave a small smile and nod.
"Yeah, just thinking," he answered. She raised an eyebrow and flopped down next to him.
"About what?" she asked gently. "Sephiroth?"
He was silent for a moment. "Yeah, a little about Sephiroth."
"But not just Sephiroth?" she continued delicately, staring at him with a look of knowing in her eyes. Cloud was silent again. He was quite glad Aeris could tell when he was feeling bad about something because otherwise, he would never have been able to talk about it. Aeris had a way of easing his problems out of him.
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked.
"I'm alright," he replied giving her a smile of reassurance. She looked at him for a long time before she suddenly leaned over, wrapping her arms around him tenderly.
"If you say so," she sighed softly. "But if you need to talk to anyone, I'm here."
She got up and left, giving one last smile over her shoulder. Cloud watched her a slight warm feeling travelling through his body as his brain processed the fact that she had just hugged him. He felt like he could be ready for anything that came his way, just from that simple act of affection.
Sometimes, Cloud was amazed at what Aeris could do to him.
