Soft, dark brown, hair pulled in a puffy ponytail flowed against the soothing summer breeze.

"Theres a storm coming..." he told me.

"Yes I know....but...cant you stay a little longer, for me?" I ask.

"Well...I'll try but if I dont come back late tomorrow afternoon, then I'll see you by Monday." he says in a silk-like tone. So smooth and soft...kinda like his hair when I'm brushing it.

''You promise?" I ask quietly.

He turns his head to look over his shoulder at me with a small sincere smile.

"I promise." he says.

I open my arms for a hug. He turns to me and smiles the most dazzling smile I've ever seen and have grown to love. His strong arms are securely wrapped around me in a tight embrace.

As we pull away a raindrop falls upon my cheek. I look up at the sky, gray clouds cover us overhead and beyond.

He looks up and back at me and another gorgeous smile falls upon hi ssoft lips and he closes his mohagany eyes.

The cloud thickens and the bright sun disappears, not to be seen again until tomorrow morning. The raindrops fall faster as the cloud gets darker. Then it pours on us. Hard. He opens his eyes and laughs. With a single light tug on my wrist we run down the hill. I pull away and run ahead laughing. As I turn back toward him, he pulls me close and we fall laughing together.

I look into his eyes and I see myself.

"C'mon we gotta go before we catch a cold." he whispers.

"Yeah..."

He stands and holds out a hand for me to use to lift myself. He turns to walk up the street and I jump on his back just for fun. Him and his good reflexes...he wrapped his arms around the back of my legs and regains his own balance.

We finally reach my porch and he sets me down gentlely. He left me with a kiss on my lips and a whisper.

"I promise..."
