My Journey with Link
Hello my name is Katrina Johnson and I'm a senior in high school. And I'm going to tell you a story. Now let's start with the date of March 3 okay? Alright let us begin. My day started off a bit slow. I woke up late due to some crazy dreams and stomach aches. I quickly hopped into the shower; once I came out I looked at my alarm clock and groaned. I had spent roughly 20 minutes in the shower for it was 8:45. So I quickly threw on a pair of black skinny jeans a dark green shirt and a black sweater. When I looked back at the clock again I noticed it was 8:53. So I had my mother drive me to school, I made it to school with time to spare. The rest of the day went by like any other. Math, Forensics, and then lunch. After lunch I was walking down the hall to my next class government when a teacher called me out.
"Katrina can you come to my office please?" I turned around to see my counselor Mr. Keifer.
"Um…okay…?" I replied back slightly confused. "Is there somethin' you need? Did I do somethin' wrong?" Keifer simply shakes his head before stating, "No you did nothing wrong, but I do need you to come with me." He began to turn around to walk back to his office when I called out.
"Do I need to leave my stuff in the classroom or—. " His didn't turn back around to face me but he did tell me that that would be unnecessary for I won't be present for the lesson. I just shrugged my shoulders and began to walk next to him on the way to his office. When we got there I noticed three boys all with blonde hair. Of different shades if course. Going for left to right one seemed a bit shorter than I, was an average blonde he wore a long green t-shirt with blue jeans and sneakers. The middle had dirty blonde hair and had blue earrings. This was strange for me to see since I don't see that every day. But he also wore a green shirt but a shade darker than the other and black jeans. The last was a tall boy maybe 6"5 maybe taller. But he had bright blonde hair like golden sunshine. He wore a white button up with brown work pants and boots. When we finally walked in they all turned around and looked at me and Mr. Keifer. I was in shock. They all had the most beautiful of features and their eyes were like shiny sapphires. The one the left smiled wide got up and walks towards me. I backed up a bit, uncomfortable with his reaction. He held out his hand and said, "Hello! My names Sky! Nice to meet you!" My eyes widen a bit has I slowly shake his hand with great caution. After I walked or more like sped walked to the side of Keifer's deck. Mr. Keifer had already sat down at his deck and soon began the introductions.
"Hello everyone my name is Mr. Keifer and I am one of the counselors here at Melissa High." He looked towards me and continued. "This here is Katrina Johnson and she will be your guide and helper for the remainder of the school year." I looked at him in shock. "What? I thought that was a teacher's job not a student's." I stated. Keifer just ignored my statement and continued on. "Katrina these are Sky, Twi, and Time." He went from left to right. Each boy replied as there name was said. "Hi!" "Hello." "Good afternoon dear." I just waved and soon crossed my arms with my hips cocked to the side. My Tinker Bell bag hanged loosely on my right shoulder and my water bottle filled with lukewarm iced coffee hang in my hand. Keifer began rummaging through some papers on his messy deck and handed me a sheet of paper. I looked at him with a cocked eyebrow and soon looked at the paper. My eyes widen in shock.
"Keifer what's the meaning of this?! Why'd you change my schedule?!" I looked at Keifer with anger in my voice but I didn't raise my voice in fear of catching the attention of the people outside. I looked back at my schedule and reviewed it once more. My art class stayed as my second period but the rest was all rearranged. My math was now 5th, my Government was 6th, my forensics was 7th, and my English 4 class was 3rd. My delay arrival and early release stayed as is as well thank god. Keifer just sighed and looked at me before replying.
"Katrina please understand we did this to help these new students who have come here form a different land far from here—"I cut him off.
"Oh so you fuck up my schedule to do so?! Do you know how hard it will be for me to get used to that? I barely just got used to the schedule I had!" I was furious. How could they do this? I barely got by with the schedule I had already and for them to just change it to fit with these guy's schedule? You have got to be kidding. Keifer continued his sentence.
"As I was saying they come from a different land and need someone to teach them about this country and since you always seem to have free time the staff thought it would be a good idea to have you help them. But if you don't want to help them then that's okay we will find someone else." I face palmed and slowly slid my hand down my face. "I never said I wouldn't do it I just don't appreciate you changing my schedule." After I said that I took my hairband of and lightly ruffled my hair up before putting the hairband back on my head. Keifer just sighed. "Katrina I'm sorry but we needed to do it. Also if you didn't know already they will be living with you as well. I believe your parents told you?" I looked at him like he was crazy. "When did this happen?" Keifer looked at me in a shock. "Your parents didn't tell you I-. " As Keifer and I continued talking or arguing I suppose the three boys just sat there in their chairs conversing with themselves quietly.
"Do you think she understands who we are and who she is?" asked Twi.
"I don't know darling but she may figure it out along the way." answered Time. Sky just stared at both me and Keifer as we continued to argue.
"Maybe we should stop them?" questioned Sky. Just as he said that I threw my hands in the air in surrender. "Whatever, it doesn't matter to me. It's my parents fault if the bills get higher and all that. As long as I don't have to give up my room I'm chill." I pulled my phone out of my back pocket to check the time and to my surprise there were only five minutes until I had to leave to head home. "Damn I've been in here for a long time. It's almost time for me to go home. Keifer do they have the same schedule as I do now?" Keifer simply nodded his head. "Alright well I gonna start headin' that way if you don't mind. Come on boys we're leaving and try to keep up with my pace kay?" As I said that I walked to the door opening it and exiting the room the boys following close behind. As we walked towards the back exit I pulled out my headphones and opened up SoundCloud. Soon we heard the bell signaling the end of 7th period. We exited the building and the wifi disappeared allowing me to put my my music on, but just before it started to play I turned to face the males behind me. "Okay here's the dealie-o we are walking to my house today on a usual day I would ride a bike so when those days happen you need to be up earlier than me and leave earlier than me okay or you will be late to class got it?" they all nodded. "Great! Also I play music in my ears while walking so if you say something I won't be able to hear you alright? Got it? Good. Let us go." I turned back around and started to walk away. Sky, Twi, and Time just looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders and followed after me. When they caught up they noticed my headphones in my ears and my very fast pace. They may have had to walk a lot in Hyrule but not at this pace. After a while we made it to the railroads. Usually I would have crossed the land between the road I was on and the tracks but it rained the day before so I choose the long way 'round. I looked behind myself and noticed the three look-alikes having some slight trouble keeping up so I stopped for a while to let them catch up a bit. Once they were close enough I started to walk again. A while later my brain completely forgot about my little tag-alongs, so I started to lightly sing the songs being played in my ears. "-Mom please wake up, dads with a slut, and your son is smoking cannabis-. " As I sang my body just began to sway and my hands making small gestures to the music. The boys looked at me then at each other slightly confused and in awe of the song I was singing and my voice. It wasn't until I was in front of the elementary school behind my house that I realized I had been singing in front of three boys I had never even really officially met. I clamped my mouth shut for the remainder of the walk must to the boy's disappointment. As my house came into view I started to jog the rest of the way up to the front patio. As I tried to open my door I found it locked so I typed in the code and heard the boys walk up behind me their breath in short pants. I chuckled silently to myself at the sight. I opened the front door only to be stopped in my tracks. For it front of me was a plethora of boxes and trash bags.
