When You're Gone
I always needed time on my own
I never thought I'd need you there when I cry
And the days feel like years when I'm alone
And the bed where you lie is made up on your side
Sharpay loved her brother, but she always needed alone time.
I mean, come on, she's a teenaged girl!
But Ryan had to go and join the Wildcats. So now she's stuck
in her bedroom, alone, crying.
It's only been a few days since he abandoned her, but it feels like 10 years.
Trying to forget how alone she feels, Sharpay wandered into Ryan's room.
She saw his queen size bed, with the right side made up. It's never made up.
When you walk away I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now?
Once in a while Ryan will pass by. Sure he'll wave or nod, but he keeps walking.
Sharpay always counts the steps he takes until she can't hear them anymore.
Why can't he see how much she needs him right now?
