I'm only doing this once, I am not sticking this on every chapter because if you just skip to the end without EVER reading the first chapter, you are a very strange person (Unless you're checking if it's like on hiatus or abandoned, but when it comes to me, if it hasn't been updated recently, I've probably left it on hiatus)
DISCLAIMER: What is the point in this anyway?! This is FANFiction, made by FANS, this isn't OWNERfiction, and what the hell would Owner fiction be!? Wouldn't it make more sense if I were the owner to oh I don't know... ACTUALLY MAKE THIS PART OF THE STORY?!
IDEA: I got this idea kinda from Trading Dragonslayers, except a little different. Natsu isn't 'leaving' the guild so to say. And if you haven't read the summary to figure out what I mean... Why are you reading this?
"Fear is not Evil, it tells you what your weakness is... and once you know your weakness,
you can become stronger and kinder." -Gildarts Clive.
Professor Ozpin was at a simple cafe in Vale. The cafe was actually quiet popular, however many did not go here, everyone was far too busy to bother themselves. Regardless people did come here when they could, it did sell some of the best coffee Vale had to offer.
Yet this was not what the Headmaster had come for, rather it was to convince the child in front of him to join his prestigious academy.
"Why should I join?" The boy asked. "Everyone has uses a weapon, incase you hadn't noticed, I use hand to hand combat."
Ozpin sipped his coffee, "A rarity these days, most wouldn't dare fight so close to a grim, people who use gauntlets push it, but you don't."
"I've always fought bare handed, I tried using a sword once before, didn't workout so well." He responded
The professor nodded his head, "Still, I do not like seeing talent wasted."
"I see, all right, I'll go, under one circumstance."
"Let me get this straight, you, allowed another student, when we are already filled with six teams, the day BEFORE we even admit them in school grounds?"
"Correct." The headmaster answered. "Talent like his does not come around everyday."
"You are basing all this on rumors. You had not seen him fight at all, he's far too unpredictable." The teacher exclaimed.
Knowing where she was getting at he responded simply with. "Then I will have to deal with it."
She sighed, "Regardless, we have only enough students for six full teams, not six teams and one extra or two teams of three."
"Already taken care of. I hope he has already agreed, just as I have agreed to his."
The woman sighed, "Just where are you getting at?"
"Let the pieces fall where they may, Glynda."
The airship carrying the future students, as well as Ozpin's last minute request was finally taking off.
However, not all was happy with what was going on at the moment. No, a single pink haired teenager sat with his head resting on one of his hands gazed distractedly out the window.
He could hear the other students talk to each other, specifically about a young huntress, her sister, and someone who was about to-.
"BLARGHHHH!"
vomit... On other news, the boy was holding, or rather dangling, a very important item to him, the last link between here, and his prior home.
A ring, of golden keys, Eleven golden keys to be precise.
He sighed as his mind slowly drifted back to where his heart was torn apart, it had been several years since he had left. He never could forget them, unfortunately that only made it that much more difficult for his heart not to ache.
You cannot forget where so much of your life had been spent easily.
He decided he needed someone to talk to. He went to a corner of the ship where there was nobody around and decided to summon someone he was familiar with. "Open, gate of the Maiden, Virgo."
Subtly, a golden flash appeared but soon disappeared. A girl in a maid outfit appeared, "Hello, Natsu." She greeted him as normal. "Is there anything you need,"
"Just someone to talk to, how's Fairy Tail been?" Natsu asked.
The maiden frowned, "You know that isn't going to help you. You need to get passed them, Loke is going to get really worried."
"I know, I just, can't help it. Please just tell me how they are." He asked with a pained smile.
She sighed, "They are fine, the only recent problem they had was a slight... Disagreement, with Sabertooth."
"Still don't like how he joined their enemy huh?" Natsume thought aloud wistfully.
The girl nodded. "Where are you going now?" Virgo asked realizing they were on a ship, or rather a bullhead.
"School, a school for hunters." He explained.
"Students, welcome to your home away from home, Beacon Academy." Just as the announcement rang out, people ran to the left side windows to catch a glimpse of their new life.
In all honesty the academy looked much more like a castle than anything, giant walls with enormous windows, a main central spire and even a large courtyard. Added on that the closest part of civilization is an entire mountain below and the forest is around the entire place. This seemed to come out of some kind of fairy tale.
Natsu smiled, it reminded him of Fairy Tail before they left for Tenroujima.
Virgo faintly smiled seeing that. She was aware how much things hurt him, especially when her contractor was one of them.
Regardless she tapped his shoulder, signaling she had to go, he gave a short nod and in a flash, was gone.
The ship landed and students began to file out. He noticed a blonde haired boy run out and throw up. Natsu laughed a little. He was inwardly glad that he no longer had motion sickness, having gotten over it from extreme training.
By that he means he continuously rode transportation to the point he got just a slight headache.
Other students from his plane were the two siblings, one was extremely happy, the other... nervous. That is before she saw weapons.
'No better place to start making friends, right?' Just as he was making his way he felt a buzz in his pocket.
"As much as we would love for you to make friends, I need to have a word with you, please come to my office, your scroll will direct you.
-Headmaster Ozpin"
He sighed as he got the message. 'There goes my chance for meeting someone new.'
Ozpin was once again, sipping on his coffee as the doors to his office opened. "Ah, Natsu, it seems you have made it here."
The pink haired teen sent him an unamused look. "Well? I was looking forward to meeting my future classmates."
Just as he said that the door opened once more, only this time it was Glynda Goodwitch, Battle instructor and dust teacher at Beacon. "What is it professor-" She began before noticing the unfamiliar teen in the room. "This is the last minute student, isn't he?"
"That is correct, and thank you for coming in. I was just about to tell him how he will play a role into this year, considering we cannot have him just be placed on a five person team, nor can we have a three person and two person team, and even worse solo." Ozpin started.
"As headmaster I anticipated there would be a year where the number of students was not optimal for our team requirements. You, Natsu, just happen to be the first person we will use this on. During initiation tomorrow you will be sent after everyone is partnered up. There will be a separate relic for you to find as to not interrupt the others creating teams.
"Should you pass our test, you will be joining a second year team, whom I have already asked if they could train you, for a period of time, they will Ave one class with you each. The leader will be in your battle classes, that is all they have decided right now. After the first qquarter, you will join each first year team and pick one of the six teams by the semester's end."
Natsu paused for a moment, "And my condition?"
Glynda raised anew eyebrow, not aware he wanted something in return.
Ozpin chuckled and handed him his request, a stamp that had the design of the academy's central spire. "Welcome, Natsu Dragneel, to Beacon." He said stamping his right shoulder.
He smiled, 'Just like back home.' "So... I'm guessing I'm free to go?"
They nodded, though Glynda sent a look towards the headmaster practically saying they were going to talk.
"You're free to go, head to the banquet hall, if you get lost just check the scroll."
Natsu nodded and made his merry way out the door.
Strolling through the halls he noticed something, dorms, something he wasn't entirely used to. However the second was more important, there were several more peaceful faunus wandering the school.
To him this was a blessing, he never liked discrimination, not since the incident between strong and weak with Sabertooth happened. Yuuki had honestly deserved better than them. Without a doubt this school was better for him considering his other talents.
He held a small satisfied smirk, having somewhat of a secret agenda in his own mind. See while he heard it was risky and even foolish for someone to be on a solo team, he was never really on his own. He was also thankful for Loke explaining a very useful trick for first generation dragon slayers.
Soon Natsu followed the flow of students into the rather large room. He could only assume this would be the location he was asked to go to.
(I'm certain you all know how this goes)
After Ozpin's rather downing speech, the groups made their way to the ballroom a few doors down. Many of the students wore as little clothing as possible, Natsu being Natsu thought the one and only thing that came to his mind at the time. 'Perverts'
He decided one near a window would be nice, certainy would remind him of his hammock near the window at his house. He considered possibly calling out Ares or Loke for a nice conversation, but there were too many people up and the ligh would certainly attract them .
He decided to let his eyes rest until either something interesting happened, or he fell asleep.
However this did not take long as nearby, a young black haired girl opened a book up with a candle lighting her area up, while the red haired irl from earlier walked p to her.
Normally he would just jump in and cut the conversation, but with how he was a sudden addition, and unplanned the other students were not aware of him. This would definiely be much more fun if he remained unknown. Oh yes he would drop a hint or two, but where would the fun in flat out telling what was going on?
So he decided to keep to himself, snickering once or twice about how they will feel the next day.
Oh yes, watch out Remnant, you're in the presence of a Dragon Slayer.
Think of this as a pilot chapter, depending on how well it goes I may update more frequently, it's just, every Fairy Tail story is with Lucy running away and coming back stronger because Lisanna came back (1. I hate Lucy, expect Lucy-bashing. and 2. I like non-canon pairings more than canon pairings) and every crossover with RWBY typically is a hey let's drop them in with no feasible explanation (I will eventually) and more so, it's more them than the RWBY bits.
There are elements in RWBY that need to be taken really seriously.
2. Villains
3. TRAINING (Seriously, I know you guys want to make it a good story, but how many of you get upset with fanfictions that in the first chapter they leave their home and the next chapter with ZERO explanation of what they did, it's like "Five years later" HELL NO! That kills everything! I've read stories that did explain the training, guess what? I followed them. You bet I did, what did I do to the time skips? If it isn't extremely interesting (coughgoesbackintimecoughcough) then I don't read past the time skip.
4. Back story, how does the character feel about being in Remnant, you can tell I had something big happen to Natsu that made him leave. He wasn't blasted, sent through a portal or punched Acnologia so hard he traveled through dimensions (I have read too many stories like that), there's a reason behind it I will reveal later. But the main point is, most of the time it's "Well... new world, alright let's see what I can do." then they act as if it's home already without even trying to get back or figure out why they are here.
Those need to be taken way more seriously, there are some good ones don't get me wrong, but typically they don't update much or they are too short (I'm talking 1-2.5k words. I say long is around 5-7k, overkill is 10k and if you go beyond that, if it isn't like a special chapter for some holiday or something big, don't bother. Nobody is going to have the attention span to sit there to read your 21k word chapter.
UPDATE PLANS:
None, I am a go with the flow person, plus this isn't the only story I want to make right now, and I have other fanfictions to work on.
I have like three more stories planned, so... be prepared!
