Standing out on top of a hill was a single figure. He wore a cloak that covered his head and most of his body. He looked off over the city of Magnolia. "It's changed so much since I was a child." He sighed. "Mother…. Did you ever imagine it could become like this?" Under his view the city, which had once been bustling and full of life, was almost empty and had little movement. The city also had no magic energy at all. "You would cry if you could see the city now." He sighed. "But if has to be like this."
The city wasn't the only one. Twenty years ago there had been an uprising in the kingdom of Kivon, and a group of mages began to drain all magic from the inhabitants of the kingdom. They then moved on to Ishgar and began to take over and drain over the inhabitants of their magic. The group had taken the name Caretakers, the caretakers of magic. The mages of the land of Ishgar had tried to stop the caretakers, but all had fallen. In the end the only guild that had been left to stand against the Caretakers, the biggest guild of Magnolia- Fairy Tail.
The lone figure sighed. "Mother you tried your hardest to save this kingdom's magic but you failed." He closed his eyes.
Fairy Tail had fallen leaving no one to stand against the Caretakers and the loss of all magic in the Kingdom of Ishgar.
"Hey Latem!" The figure turned and looked over his shoulder where a squad of Caretaker soldiers stood. Calling out to him was the leader of the squad, a man with dark black hair and bright green eyes. "Come on, Araie is waiting for us."
"I'm coming." He headed down the path. "Tell me Cam, have you heard any news of Fairy Tail?"
"You mean those upstarts." The man frowned and folded his arms as they walked. "I don't see why Araie doesn't just send us to find and take them out."
"Probably because they are only a few and Araie wants to focus on taking over Bosco." He looked forward unblinking. "Fairy Tail is just a group of mages who can do nothing but hide."
"Yeah I guess you're right…. But hopefully Araie will realize just how troublesome they can become and send someone to take care of them before they become too big a problem."
"I guess…"
Fairy Tail, the new and only guild left in Fiore, it was the last free magic in the kingdom. It was also full of the children of the old Fairy Tail, and only a few know this.
He smiled slightly under his cloak. Igneel I hope you and the others can do it, free this land… and our parents. I leave it up to you.
Meanwhile in the area where the Heatfilia manor once stood a young man yawned and rubbed his eyes as he looked at a paper in front of him. His spiky blond hair always a mess had a couple pencils sticking out of it at odd angles. He scratched his head, drawing one of the pencils out and wrote down a side note on a pad next to him. "I guess I could send him to take care of that." He sighed and looked up at the roof. "It's been nine years hasn't it?" He circled the date on the paper in front of him, X814. "Mom…. Dad…. I'm going to save this land that you loved so much." He stood up. It's time I go wake the others, we've got work to do.
