Sam watched as the silk slip burned to ash. His tense muscles clenched tighter as the spirit flamed out and Dean's limp body crashed to the floor. He'd been slammed hard and pinned by his throat, Sam was afraid to check which had rendered Dean unconscious.
He took a step and froze, realizing Dean wasn't breathing. A few long strides covered the distance, he dropped to his knees and laid a hand on Dean's chest. He felt the heartbeat an instant before he felt the movement under his hand as Dean drew a gasping breath.
Then Sam remembered to breathe.
