Summary: How did Peeta feel when Katniss stepped up to take her sister's spot?
Hope
I stared at her, thinking she was crazy, but also brave. I admired her for stepping up and taking the place of her sister. I knew that she loved her. Who wouldn't love little Prim? Who wouldn't step up so that she wouldn't have to face the terrors of the Hunger Games?
But then again, who said Katniss deserved this? Who was meant to suffer this fate? Anyone who entered the ring, well, they were more than likely to die. I didn't want Katniss to suffer too. I wasn't in love, but she was my friend. Friends don't let friends get hurt.
I looked around anxiously. Maybe someone, anyone, would step up. No, no one moved. I drew my eyes back to the stage in time to see Katniss look at me. I masked my face and stared back at her, trying to calm my emotions. Maybe she could win. Hopefully, she would win.
