Xirysa Says: So, I've wanted to write something like this for a while, now. It may be kind of wonky, but… What the hey.
'Till Death Do Us Part

She told him that she didn't want to be alone.
An innocent request.
It's only one night, she whispered as her lips pressed against his jaw, his neck. What's wrong with that?
But it wasn't right—they had jobs to do.
This isn't like you at all.
I know.
She was tugging at his shirt in an attempt to get it off of him; he found himself helping.
Her belt clattered to the floor, and his shirt soon joined it.
We may not be together like this for a while, you know.
When did it suddenly become so warm?
You're right, I guess.
I always am.
Her skin was soft and flawless.
He vaguely wondered if his touch would mar it.
You're so beautiful.
He didn't know that it was her first time. He didn't want to hurt her.
I'm sorry…
But she didn't know that it was his, too.
I don't care about the pain.
Masochist.
Shut up.
She was moaning, now, and he was, too. Quietly, though, so quietly. If anyone heard them…
M-Matthew!
How embarrassing.
Leila—!
Her back was to him as he pulled on his pants, buttoned his shirt. He hated leaving her like this, but he had to go.
The way she was sleeping reminded him of the fairies in the books he had read as a child. He watched her for a moment, then reached out to her.
He didn't touch her.
His hand dropped to his side.
I'm sorry.
He opened the door and left, closing it quietly behind him. He didn't looked back.
I know.
When he saw her among the grass and weeds of Valor, he wondered why she was so still. But then, when Lady Lyndis uttered the one word he never expected but somehow knew—dead—he felt so very strange.
Her skin was stained with blood. He felt nauseous when he realized it was her own.
He didn't really think that Valor was all that cold when their motley crew had first arrived on the island. He found that his opinion had most definitely changed.
I'm sorry, Matthew.
He wished that he had told her that he didn't want to be alone either.

Xirysa Says: This… Was definitely different. Anyway, I haven't really written a MatthewLeila 'fic for a while. I find that I now have a strange love for ambiguous and depressing things. So yes, there you go. Feedback is appreciated!
