So basically this is a story that I started to write after I read a book about werewolves. (I know there are a lot of those)The plot and characters are mine. This is my first story so stick with me guys!
Prologue
The water lapping against the bridge helped my pounding headache. The headache had been going on ever since the incident with Sam. Sam was my little brother and the only family I had left. He and I were out on a walk when an abnormally large wolf came at us.
The wolf seemed to be laughing at our fear, like it was drunk. What was weirder was that it talked. It kept saying that he was going to get in big trouble and that he should go after the weakest human, not the strongest. A few seconds after having a one sided conversation with himself, he attacked us. After he bit me, I remember falling and feeling helpless, paralyzed even.
I watched Sam die. The wolf seemed to go insane after biting me. He was drooling and mumbling about controlling his hunger. After that, he went after Sam and bit his head. I heard a sickening snap and saw him fall to the ground. The wolf laughed. A very cruel, mad laugh. Then, he turned to me with hate filled eyes and whispered something that I couldn't understand. He left right after that.
Now, here I was. Under a bridge, feeling like I was changing into a different person. "Why is it only me?" I grunted. My family is dead and my friends decided to ditch me because they thought I needed my space to "recover" when in truth, they were scared of me. Thought I was going mental.
I never believed in fantasy. Such things like, love, fairies, vampires, werewolves, and all that.
Ever since I was a young girl I thought they were stupid. My mother used to think that I hit my head whenever I told her that I didn't believe in that stuff. Mom was into the happily ever afters and love conquers all type of things. Even Dad believed it too.
What about in the real world? Why didn't super heroes come out of their disguises to save the world? Where were the fairies and their magical powers to help bring back the dead for a second chance? Why was I still alive?
An painful ripple in my body brought my attention back from memory lane. The ripples made my body curl and transform into something different. Unreal. The pain kept getting stronger and stronger until my body became numb. Just like that time the wolf bit me.
Finally, the numbness went away and so did the pain. I took slow and deep breaths. Only the sounds that I heard were that of my pounding heart and the water. Everything else was silent. Like, the world was waiting to see what I would do next. I looked down at my hands and noticed that they weren't hands, but paws. Furry, brown paws.
I started to scream but stopped. It wasn't a scream but a growl. A low, bloodcurdling growl. Looking into the water I finally realized what I had turned into, a wolf.
