I got the idea for this while writing another Pepperony fic. I dropped everything and came to write this. It seemed like such a good idea. As I said before all my Pepperony stories are interlocked so if you don't recognise a reference to an event its in one of my other stories. Somewhere... Anyway, Enjoy.
-These are Pepper's thoughts. She is at a formal work benefit with Tony. She is sat slouched at an Island bar watching everything happen before her. This is like a brief encounter with Pepper's brain and what flies around it. Like a snapshot daydream conversation with herself.
'Tony Stark?' they say to me in a questioning tone. They've been doing it all night. To my face and behind my back. No one quite understands why I fell for him. I guess in a way I still don't myself. He's a crazy self centered narcissist. He's also a charmer with a kind heart. Maybe that's it. He has an uncanny pull. Without even trying he lures you in. Makes you love him in an instant. Fall in love with him after a few minutes with the right kind of attention. First his deep brown eyes capture you. They pull you in and you're stuck there. Staring at them. Not even listening to the conversation you're having. Smile, nod and agree. Before you know it you've been there for about half an hour and he begins to lead you off. At least that's what I seen happen. To loads of women. I guess it was different for me though. The first day I started working as his PA. I had dry cleaning done and a taxi ordered for one of the women he had taken home. Not quite the conventional way to start any relationship. Especially not one between an employee and her boss. I guess over the years I grew to care for him as a friend. He started to care back. Now we are here. At one of Stark Industries many charity events. Together. The first time in public as a couple. Tonight I'm remembering one thing. Smile, nod, agree.
