I
LEO
As much as Leo hated Gaea, she sure knew how to press Leo's buttons. So much for a functioning machine, Leo thought to himself as he fought against the harsh winds ripping past his sails. Everything with a sign of intelligence was fighting for a clear path away from the black, hungry storm that the Argo II was flying into. Leo steeled himself. He can't chicken out now, and the only way to get through the Apennines was through this stormy strait, or 300 miles west.
Not much of a choice, considering what was at sake. Leo almost blanched, remembering how easily he left his friends behind to face down Gaea, just so he could look for Calypso. He was chasing… what exactly? It felt like a cold tugging sensation in his gut, being separated from her- or was that the storm? The ship was jumbled about like a soccer ball in a match, and Leo wanted a team to score one way or the other. He flew backwards, away from the Archimedes sphere, and landed back first on the deck. At least here there was no wind tearing sound from his ears, almost a safe haven for once in his hectic life. As if he'd ever be able to relax! He would have to cart around his world-saving friends all his life, just to keep everyone alive. Leo could afford to sit here and relax, right now, if only for a minute, right? The only world ender was in Greece, too far away to matter.
Oars flew off the sides, reminding him that no, he couldn't rest, he had to keep his ship intact, in order to rescue Calypso from her prison. Leo grimaced, and jumped up, already running back towards the helm. Gaea awakes in 10 days, and I still have to find Calypso, get her to safety, and get back to Greece, Leo thought. Just typical of what we've been doing lately.
