The screams of the ones I loved slowly drifted into the background, arranging themselves into an utter harmony.

But I didn't listen, all my senses were focusing on the person a few yards ahead of me, the enemy.

I didn't have much of a choice, there was only one way to get what I wanted and needed.
I didn't care if I was dying, I had to try. They didn't understand but they didn't have to.

All that mattered was that I needed to win this fight, that I saved my heart and the one that was holding it in his big warm hands.
