she belongs with him

Captain Swan Fic, my take on the kiss

She grabs the lapels of his leather jacket and their eyes met briefly before she crashes her lips onto his. Their tongues explore each other through every passing second and they let go (regrettably) for air. He's staring at her with shock, and Emma's staring back.

"Swan.."

"I..Hook, I'm…"

Suddenly, she hears something from the distance.

"EMMA?"

Her eyes widens at the familiarity of the voice. Hook sharply turns his face towards the forest. Could it be?

He turns back to Emma, who was still looking in the general direction of the voice. Searching with pleading eyes.

She glances back at Hook.

I'm sorry. But I need to..

Her eyes say this, practically begging. Why she's waiting for his permission, she does not know.

He puts on a fake smile and looks away, dropping his hands from her waist. She dashes off, but not without a second look.

He laughs to himself and grabs his head. Why it was thumping right now made no sense to him.

"Why'd you let her go?"

Hook turned around and meets Tinkerbell's. One of her eyebrows were raised.

"I don't deserve happy endings, Tinkerbell."

"That's stupid. What's your real reason?"

"She belongs with him. They're," his voice cracked, "meant to be with each other."

Tinkerbell shakes her head. She walks next to Hook's sides and crosses her arms.

"No, I don't think that's the truth. I think," she smirks, "I think that you just don't want to take something from Baelfire again."

Hook looks to the floor and starts to shake his head.

"Admit it. You're guilty."

Hook nods. He wonders if he'll be able to ever make it up to Baelfire.

Perhaps. Perhaps letting Baelfire be happy with Emma will be my atonement. My suffering as punishment. It's so fitting.

Hook then starts to laugh. His laugh sounds as broken and empty as his heart.
