A Thousand Years Paradox
Sheldon and Amy Cooper where laying down side by side on their old worn couch. Sheldon was cradling Amy in his skinny arms.
"Sheldon" said Amy.
"yes Amy" said Sheldon.
"our 30 year anniversary is coming up" said Amy.
"yes I know" said Sheldon. Amy turned to face her husband.
"do you still love me, even after all we've been through" said Amy.
"Amy how could you say such a thing" he said.
" I was thinking about all the things that have happened in the past 30 years, we've had two genius twins, we raised them, we've both received Nobel prizes , but we've always had problems every step of the way. Most guys would have baled out, why did you stay" she said. He held her tighter and kissed the top of her head.
"Amy I've stayed because I couldn't bear leaving" said Sheldon. Amy turned to face him.
"do you mean it" she said with tears welling up in her eyes.
"to quote Christina Perri, I've loved you for a thousand years" he said . Then he leaned in and kissed her.
"I've loved you longer than that" she said. They laid there in their love, as they had done for 30 years. Feeling no younger than the day they first met.
