Johnny folded up the letter he wrote, picked up the jet black rose, and solemnly walked to the black marble grave.

Looking around to make sure he was alone, he let a tear run down his cheek. As he put his head on the grave, he laid the beautiful rose in front of it. It was the only one there.

"Hey, Jimmy." He whispered, "I wrote something for you…"

He unfolded the letter and read out loud:

Dear Jimmy,

I never got the chance to tell you.

When I chose you over Whatsername, I didn't do it for the drugs…. I did it for you, Jimmy.

I loved you and I still do. But I was just too full of myself and too stupid to say that to you before you took your life.

Forever is a long time, but I will love you for as long as time.

Your mournful "friend",

Johnny

Johnny barely got through the letter. The tears were flowing freely now. A sob racked his body as he laid the note under the rose. "I'm sorry Jimmy…" he choked out. "I'm so sorry."

He lost track of time as he laid at the foot of the grave, memories flowing through his mind like a sad movie.

Will knew his friend Johnny was at the graveyard. He knew that Johnny needed to say goodbye. After about 2 hours of waiting, Will decided to check on him. As he approached the boy, lying at the foot of the grave like a loyal dog, Will could tell that Johnny needed a comforting hand.

Johnny flinched when Will laid a hand on his shoulder. He gave his life long friend a look of self pity.

Will sat down next to Johnny and wrapped him in a tight, warm hug. "It's okay, it is going to be okay," he whispered into his hair.

Johnny needed the close contact. Will had been there for him since kindergarten and now he needed him more than ever.

He leaned into the hug, nodding his head.

"Do you want to go?" Will asked.

Johnny nodded slightly, standing up. "Just give me a moment…"

Will nodded and walked away.

Johnny swallowed and put two fingers to his lips, kissing them, and then laying them a top the grave. He felt a hand on his shoulder and, thinking it was Will, turned around.

No one was there.

He smiled to himself as a breeze brushed his tears away.

"See you, Jimmy."
