Kenpachi looks at his Lieutenant sometimes and wonders how in hell she hasn't got people out for her blood.
Because he's seen her fight, and she doesn't take it any more seriously than she takes anything else. Which is to say she doesn't take it seriously at all.
The last time he saw her fight something, she giggled her way through it, and the shinigami she'd fought hadn't escaped 4th Division's ministrations for nearly a week.
So how in hell.
He knows how he doesn't. Because he, generally speaking, is bigger than everyone else, and half the time, the weaklings can't even move properly under his reiatsu. And if they can, he'll willingly beat the ever-living shit out of them, and see if they want more.
...But he doesn't giggle in the middle of a fight. Or tell someone who's just had their foot broken that they're walking funny. Or looked down on someone covered in their own blood and laughed. Yachiru does.
He's told her that's damn weird, but she just giggled at that too, and told him he was silly.
And it's damn weird, because instead of having people out to kill her, she's got people giving her candy.
It's not really worth wasting time thinking about. But when she bounces up on his shoulder and wipes her bloody hands on his captain's jacket, snuggling up to his neck with a cheerful grin, sometimes the thought crosses his mind.
