A.N./ I was going to put this in Moments. At least that's what I planned when I wrote it. But, obviously, this is not a drabble. I tried and tried to make it one, but it didn't work, so I ended up just doing the whole song except for the chorus. Anyway, the first four sections are from Merlin's POV, then the last one is Arthur's.
This fic is inspired by Bulletproof Picasso, a song by Train. I don't own it or Merlin.
Am I made of paper? 'Cause I tear so easily.
Easily? More like effortlessly.
Am I made of vapor? Because I disappear.
Not bad all the time though. I suppose.
Do I have to have a reason for anything I feel?
Probably not. Reasons are pretty much unused around here.
Just be glad I'm real, glad I'm real.
I should be. I really should.
Am I real?
Are you made of lead paint? A bulletproof Picasso?
Yeah. I'm invincible I guess.
All the virgin saints put you here to care for me
It was supposed to be my destiny. At first.
I don't need a reason for anything I feel.
Nope. No one does anymore.
Just be glad I say what I mean
Did you really, Arthur?
and mean what I say to you
Did you ever see the waves break into a million pieces?
No. I wish I could have.
Or stay awake with someone who was dying?
Oh, yes. Many times.
You don't need to tell me anything at all.
We'll just sit here together.
I'm just glad you're here, glad you're real.
More than I should be.
Are you real?
Am I made of timber? 'Cause I'm on fire.
I knew I would be someday.
Will you remember tonight for very long?
Probably not. You've got a kingdom to run.
You don't need to sell me on anything at all.
No one would buy me anyway.
Just say what you mean
Go on and condemn me.
and mean what you say to me.
Amber waves of grain fly by highway lanes.
Even they remind me of his golden eyes.
Waited for this change seems like my entire life.
If it doesn't come, though, I'll understand.
If only the good die young we'll outlast everyone,
I guess that's why you're gone and I'm not.
for some of the things we've done.
Too many of them.
And we've just begun.
Sooo...review, please.
