Raindrops keep falling on my head…
Arthur lay flat on his bed as rain pounded the window outside. He was out of breath, but the grin on his face couldn't have been bigger.
It had been their first date and the first Hogsmeade visit of the year. They'd gone to Honeydukes for snacks, both of them turning a gracious blind eye to the other's nearly empty pockets. They'd just walked around all day, looking visiting the old house on the edge of town for laughs. On the trip back to the castle, Arthur had swallowed his nerves and gently reached for Molly's hand. She accepted his hand in hers and she squeezed it, smiling. Arthur knew his hands had to be sweaty, but Molly said nothing about it. They'd gone back to the castle like that and it was only once they passed Hogwarts's gates that at last the sky opened up and the deluge began. Arthur had held tight to Molly's hand as they ran across the lawn, both of them laughing. They'd taken refuge in the nearest dry place, a shallow arch that covered a window. The overhanging stone arch only provided about a small dry patch, forcing Arthur and Molly to stand very close together. Molly barely came up to Arthur's chin and his breath ruffled her frizzy hair. They watched the rain for a moment, waiting for a break. None was forthcoming. Slowly, Molly turned to look up at Arthur. He could feel her breath now, ghosting over his skin and he shivered. He met her eyes, a nervous smile making its way to his face. Molly's swallowed and said quietly,
"I had a really nice time today."
"I'm glad you did." Arthur replied. Molly was moving closer, slowly closing the tiny gap between them. Without even meaning to, Arthur started leaning down, as if to hear her better. When he was merely inches from her face, Arthur stopped. Both of them froze, Arthur suddenly unsure and Molly waiting patiently. Her pink tongue flickered out to wet her lips and Arthur followed its progress.
"You can kiss me, if you like." whispered Molly.
"Merlin, I'd like." Arthur closed the distance in one movement, his face smashing into Molly's. He tried to pull back and make sure he hadn't broken her teeth or something, but Molly made a pleasant noise and shot a hand out to keep him where he was. She grinned against his mouth and Arthur's hands hesitantly came to settle on Molly's hips. Merlin, she was perfect.
Minerva McGonagall sat at her desk, trying not to look at the snogging teenagers just outside her window. A smirk made its way to her face as she cast a Concealment Charm on her window. It displayed a beautiful summer field in place of the fumbling Gryffindors who couldn't know she was there. She went back to her correcting with a smile.
