A/Ns: A weird oddball fic I came up with while I was at school watching some anime on a computer.

I do not own ZEXAL.

She's always there, lingering in the back of his mind each night he dreams, large violet wings spread wide while she stares at him from a distance. Most of her face is covered by a large metal helmet that wraps all the way around her head, leaving just her mouth and chin visible. He knows she always keeps her eyes on him, licking her lips with her violet tongue and giant fangs poking out from under her dark red lips. Her skin is the same color as a cherry, bright red and covered in various gems from head to toe.

He has no idea where she came from. She's been there since he went to the Barian World with Yuma, Astral, and Ryouga, and used his special ability to save his friends.

She knows something he doesn't, that he can sense. He can hear her whispers of something important, but they are spoken in her language, so he cannot understand what she says. Sometimes she speaks directly to him, using his Japanese language to communicate, but most of the time she switches to her native language before she makes her point. It frustrates him, makes him very pissed off, but she is so frighteningly calm in handling his outbursts that he is unable to get her to answer his questions.

But, tonight, he realizes something is off.

His back aches horridly, and it's not just his spine; it is his entire back, under his skin and around his bones and swimming through his muscles. The pain is dull, like something is underneath his skin and laying dormant until the perfect moment. It's not too debilitating; it's just annoying. As he lays down to sleep, he has to flip onto his stomach because it is just too uncomfortable to lay upon his back.

When sleep claims him, he is surprised to find himself not in that of the blank darkness that he usually encounters, but a sort of garden on a platform carrying a golden dome-type building as well. The building had several columns made of what looked to be solid gold, the floor inside being mosaic and made of diamonds of several colors. The garden rushed up to meet the marble path that lead to the building, softly cut grass not even spilling over onto the white rock.

Surrounding the platform was nothing but blue sky.

"I see you have come," the ever-so-familiar voice murmured behind him, soft footsteps the only sign that she was approaching him.

He turned to glare at her. "What the hell is this place?" he asked out of irritation. She tilted her head up slightly as she stopped barely a meter from him, and he assumed it was to level her eyes at him.

"This is the place that you were born," she said, arms crossed over her gold armor covering her chest.

He looked to her in shock. "What...?"

She came forward, halting and cupping her clawed left hand under his chin to lift his eyes. "You do not know how long I have waited for you to come. Your destiny awaits us here."

He didn't believe her. "What's that supposed to mean? You're not making any sense!"

She frowned. "...If you do not believe, then I shall show you."

Before he could ask her what she meant, she bent him back and bit into his neck, almost right behind his ear. Something pumped straight into him, weakening him and throwing him into a whirlpool of pain.

As she released him, letting him slump against one of the columns, she reached to her metal helmet. Clicking the buttons on the sides, she let the restraints undo themselves, and the helmet broke off her head with a hiss. Her very long hair came out in a rush, surrounding him in a gentle blanket.

Gripping his hand an pulling him forward, she said softly, "Now come with me, Master."

And then the area turned white.
