Prolog part I: Takes place after chapter 7X.
The group had left the abandoned castle in Khathelet long ago. After hours of traveling they had decided to stop for the night in a small village on the boarder of Caelin, which was about a week from their final destination. Looking around they had found an inn to stay at for a reasonable price. Also, much to the delight of the trio of horsemen the inn had a stable. After paying for a nights stay and dinner the entire party settled down for the night. The four girls in one room and the guys in another, save Sain. To every one's shock minus Kent the knight opted to stay the night in the stable with the horses. Lyn tried to tell Sain it was not really necessary. However, the knight just shrugged and said he felt at ease if someone was with the horses. To add to the nomads dismay Mark decided to stay with Sain. Simply saying "there is safety in numbers Lyn."
It was now around midnight and everyone was asleep, except for Lyn. As the group got closer to Caelin the harder it got for the young nomad to get any sleep. Many thoughts kept going through her mind. Would she make it to see her ill grandfather? Would she have to take her grandfather's place when he died? What would happen to these people see befriended? But the thought that scared her most was what would happen to Mark? Out of the entire group she worried about him the most. She knew he disliked royalty and nobility to his very core. He claimed often that they did not know about the hardships life could bring, save TWO he meet long before her. She did not want the friendship they had forged to break due to her grandfather's position. It was with that last thought she realized that sleep was not within her grasp anytime soon. "Maybe I should go for a walk and clear my head" she thought. As quietly as possibly she got up and left the room so not to disturb the other girl. After that it was a quick stroll down the hall and out the door. The moon was full that night giving out plenty of light to anyone out at the time. After about an hour Lyn returned to the inn a little tired but still as troubled as when she left. With a sigh the young woman sat down against the wall of the stable to try to relax a bit. It was then felt a hand on her shoulder and a familiar voice reached her ears.
"Why up so early Lyn?"
